This book encourages both Indigenous and non-Indigenous students to learn a great deal about the role models, featuring their culture and the adversities they have had to overcome in order to succeed in their chosen field.

Dhirrabuu Mari Outstanding Indigenous Australians is from the Gamilaraay language in North West NSW. The name of this book was chosen by members of the Armidale Diocesan Aboriginal Education Advisory Committee.

The authors are all education specialists and the activities combine both Bloom's Taxonomy and Gardner's Multiple Intelligences, thus providing a rich range of activites for students of all abilities. There is a page of background information for teachers on each person.
